Navigating the Staged Application Process: A Practical Guide for Dutyholders

The Building Safety Regulator (BSR) will be hosting a free online webinar – Navigating the Staged Application Process: A Practical Guide for Dutyholders on Thursday 26 March from 10:30am – 12:30pm.

This webinar has been developed, in partnership with the Construction Leadership Council (CLC), for people who are responsible for preparing, coordinating, or submitting staged applications to the BSR. Whether you’re new to the process or looking to strengthen your approach, this session will help you understand what BSR expects at each stage, how to avoid common pitfalls, and how to ensure your submissions are clear, complete, and compliant.

The webinar will cover the purpose of staged applications, the key information required, and how each stage supports safe design, construction, and decision-making. You’ll also hear practical insights from BSR specialists and industry experts who drafted the CLC Building Safety Staged Application guidance as well as have the opportunity to ask questions about real‑world scenarios.

The webinar panel:

  • Neil Hope-Collins – Policy Team Lead, HRB building control authority, BSR – Chair
  • Matt Coleman – Director – Structures, WSP
  • Dave Morris – Operation Policy Advisor, BSR
  • Ben Oram – Technical Director, Buckley Gray Yeoman
