The Construction Leadership Council has published guidance on the conformity marking of construction products for placing on the GB, NI and EU markets after the expiration of the transition period with the European Union at the end of the year.
The guidance offers an overview of the changes in the conformity marking of construction products after 31 December 2020 and specific advice for marking products between 1 January 2021 and 1 January 2022 in respect of products manufactured in Great Britain, products manufactured in Northern Ireland and products manufactured in the European Union. The guidance then offers specific advice for marking products after 1 January 2022 in respect of products manufactured in Great Britain, products manufactured in Northern Ireland and products manufactured in the European Union. More information on the testing, standards, processes, and certification that underpins the regulatory regimes and the associated markings will be provided by the CLC, as separate guidance, in due course.
The guidance has been issued by the Standards and Alignment Workstream of the CLC BREXIT Working Group and comprises the fourth publication in a suite of business readiness advice that the group intends to publish ahead of 31 December 2020.
