In response to the Government Covid Plan moving from Plan B to Plan A on 27 January 2022, the BMF has updated its Branch Operating Guidelines to Version 6.1 to provide up to date guidance for the safe operation of builders’ merchants in England during Covid 19. Separate regulations and guidance remain in place for those in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
The rules introduced over the 2021 Christmas period due to the rise of the Omicron variant will lapse, with mask wearing rules eased. The advice for pupils and staff to wear masks in classrooms was removed on 20 January, and work from home advice eased on 19 January too.
Publication of the latest BMF guidelines coincides with the release of updated Site Operating Procedures by the Construction Leadership Council this week too.
