COVID-19: Apprentices and Close Proximity Activity

Retaining and recruiting apprentices is vital to the future of our industry. Protection against COVID-19, notably during close proximity activity, is one of many factors that construction and RMI employers will need to consider, and close proximity may arise if an apprentice cannot drive to work, or during training and supervision.

ECA has produced two flow charts – on travel and onsite supervision – to help employers assess practical options for enabling apprentice vocational training to continue, while protecting the apprentice and those who work with them.

These flow charts are freely available to all in the industry to use or adapt as necessary. Feedback on these flow charts is welcome and should be directed to ECA at mike.giles@eca.co.uk
