RAAC Guidance and Information

The Construction Leadership Council (CLC) is working at pace, to lead the sectors understanding and assess the current risk levels associated with Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC).

The CLC will be led by a technical expert panel from professional bodies across the sector, as well as industry experts.

The work of the expert panel will be supported by a Communication and External engagement group to ensure that the right information and guidance is provided to the industry and building owners.

The Communication and External engagement group are working at pace to deliver a RAAC specific landing page on the CLC website, which is being developed as a priority. In the meantime, to ensure communication links are easily accessible, this page will act as an intermediary to signpost and highlight government and industry guidance, and information.

Technical information

Technical details about the historic use of RAAC in UK construction, and details of potential safety risks, published by The Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) can be found here . IStructE have also developed the IStructE RAAC Q&A  which will help to answer questions, in a technical capacity.

The Department for Education (DfE) have published a RAAC specific page on their Education Hub.  The hub will function as a library for accessible and straightforward RAAC information.

Government Guidance
