PAS 2000:2026 – Construction Products – Bringing Safe Products to Market

The British Standards Institution (BSI) has published PAS 2000:2026 – Construction products – Bringing safe products to market – Code of practice.

PAS 2000:2026 provides recommendations that construction product manufacturers and other economic operators can adopt to demonstrate that they have taken all reasonable steps to ensure that the construction products they place on the market are safe for their intended use.

Sponsored by the Office for Product Safety and Standards the code of practice outlines a due diligence approach consistent with Recommendation 3.3 of the Morrell‑Day Review, supporting industry efforts to meet safety and accountability expectations for construction products. It is intended to promote a culture of safety, transparency, and continual improvement across the construction supply chain.

PAS 2000:2026 will be relevant to:

• Construction product manufacturers, including those who place own label products on the market;
• Importers and distributors;
• Product designers and specifiers;
• Contractors and installers;
• Building designers;
• Building owners and accountable persons;
• Regulators and conformity assessment bodies;
• Insurers and warranty providers.

The PAS covers considerations such as:

• Pre market risk assessment;
• Factory production control processes;
