Building Assessment Certificates for Higher Risk Buildings

The Principal Accountable Person (PAP) for a higher risk building (HRB) must apply for a Building Assessment Certificate (BAC) when told to do so by the Building Safety Regulator (BSR).

Guidance for preparing a BAC has been updated in a number of areas to integrate the criteria used by BSR’s multi-disciplinary teams when assessing applications.

A summary of the assessment criteria is also available here.

Additional information about applications for building assessment certificates can be found on the BSR’s making buildings safer micro site here including a new video presentation by Tim Galloway, delivered at The Property Institute, highlighting some of the common pitfalls encountered by those submitting BAC applications.
