Routes of Entry into Construction for School Leavers Guide Published

The Construction Leadership Council (CLC) Skills Plan has an action to provide clear information about career paths and how to join construction and the built environment.   With construction needing to recruit over 53,000 new entrants each year to maintain output, employers that understand the different routes of entry into construction are well placed to offer opportunities and recruit their future pipeline of skills and Build UK has published a guide, which has been supported by the CITB, DWP and endorsed by the CLC,  setting out the most common Routes of Entry into construction for young people in England leaving school.

Commenting on this new guide Mark Reynolds, Co-Chair of the CLC said:

“We can make great progress on recruiting the next generation into construction if every business across the supply chain does just one thing to support a new entrant into the industry. We all have a part to play in making construction a career of choice, and the CLC is delighted to support this guide which delivers on one of the commitments in our Industry Skills Plan to help create a sector that young people want to join and remain a part of.”
