CLC Statement on UKCA Markings

The Construction Leadership Council (CLC) notes the recent announcement by BEIS that CE product marking for non-construction products will continue to be recognised in Great Britain for a further 2 years. This will allow businesses until 31 December 2024 to prepare for the transition to the UKCA Mark.

The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) have responsibility for construction products, including AVCP system 3 products. We understand DLUHC plan to make an announcement on recognition of CE Marking as soon as possible. This announcement is urgent and important, to ensure industry has clarity as to what products can legally be placed on the market in the UK.

The CLC continues to work with DLUHC and BEIS Ministers on this issue, and has stressed the importance of providing both clarity on the duration of the period during which the CE Mark will be recognised, and a clear policy for the future, based on the capacity of the UK testing system, that will support the operation and growth of the UK’s construction product manufacturing sector. We are committed to continue to work to deliver this objective, as proposed in our recent published letter to BEIS and DLUHC Secretaries of State
