Government response to the Farmer review

The Government has issued its response to Mark Farmer’s independent review of the sector’s labour model in a joint letter to Andrew Wolstenholme as the Chair of the Construction Leadership Council.

Lord Prior of Brampton the Minister for Construction at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, Alok Sharma the Minister for State at the Department for Communities and Local Government and Anne Milton the Minister for Apprenticeships and Skills at the Department for Education set out the Government’s position on the recommendations made in the Review (Modernise or Die) and how they have been incorporating these findings into policy development. In particular, how the recommendations influenced the measures in the Housing White Paper to support increased housing supply, and helped inform the review of the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB).

The CLC will consider the Governments response and set out how it will meet the challenges to industry in due course.
